Location: We will meet across from the composting comfort stations (restrooms) in North Park Phase 1. Gates to North Park Phase 1 are located at 350 Wild Ave (parking lot entrance) and at Schmul Park (behind the baseball field).

Father’s Day Kayak Tour

Kayak along Freshkills Park’s waterways for Father’s Day! This two mile round-trip paddle is a chance to explore the creeks and shorelines of Freshkills Park and experience the wildlife while the site is closed to the public. We know this program fills quickly and wish we could offer it more frequently, but we have a small staff and are generally limited to trips on the weekend during high tide.

There is a suggested donation of $75 to support the Freshkills Park Alliance & the Staten Island Pride Center.

New Springville Greenway Bicycle Ride

Join Freshkills Park on this beautiful bike trail! This will be a fun, leisurely ride on the New Springville Greenway. Absolutely everybody is welcome! There is no wrong way to participate as long as you’re out on a bike!

The course will include blacktop, gravel, and hardpack surfaces.

About the Education Docent Program:

Freshkills Park offers an array of programming opportunities in art, science, education, recreation, and volunteer stewardship to the public, schools, community organizations, and more. Docents will assist with educational programming at Freshkills Park to increase public access and engagement, supporting the growth of environmental stewards.
