Presented by independent curatorial initiative ACOMPI, the work culminates Carper’s two year durational dressing project examining how identity is shaped through systems of mass, accumulation, and algorithmic logic.

Celebrate Mother’s Day kayaking the waterways of Freshkills Park!
This two mile round-trip paddle is a chance to explore the creeks and shorelines of Freshkills Park and experience the wildlife while the site is closed to the public. We know this program fills quickly and wish we could offer it more frequently, but we have a small staff and are generally limited to trips on the weekend during high tide.

Freshkills Park will be holding a Kayak volunteer opener and paddle to kick off the 2025 paddling season!
Volunteers will assist staff in cleaning and preparing our kayaks, paddles, pfds, and kayak access launch in preparation for the season of paddling ahead.

Join NYC Parks and the Freshkills Park Alliance at Raptor Fest, hosted by the Urban Park Rangers. This family-friendly event is free to the public and will feature education and activity stations along with live birds of prey performing aerial feats.

Join a small group of photographers and document Freshkills Park’s transformation from landfill to 2,200-acre park. This guided tour is an opportunity to see and photograph the unique engineered landscape while the site is closed to the public. We welcome photographers of all skill levels, but you must bring your own equipment, whether a digital camera, film camera, or your phone!
