On Saturday, April 4, 2026, artist Camilla Carper debuts As Possible, their largest live presentation to date. Presented by independent curatorial initiative ACOMPI, the work culminates Carper’s two year durational dressing project examining how identity is shaped through systems of mass, accumulation, and algorithmic logic.
For the past two years, Carper has followed strict rules governing how clothing is worn and how those structures shape social movement and behavior. Recently, Carper has lived in As Much Clothing As Possible, dressing in accordance with a given activity, environment, and social space. This progression culminates in an 80-pound centerpiece garment, the heaviest work of their career and the maximum capacity advised by their physical therapist.
Inspired by runway presentations, Carper wears the layered ensemble while a group of performers move in coordinated patterns that contrast weight and lightness. Featuring choreography by Laurel Atwell and music by YATTA, As Possible transforms dressing into a collective act of balance and exchange. Staged in North Park, the presentation reflects on excess, endurance, and renewal within a landscape shaped by environmental transformation.
Duration approximately 45 minutes.
Following the presentation, audiences will have the opportunity to join a guided tour up the mound, an area of Freshkills Park that is typically closed to the public, led by Freshkills Park programming staff.
