Reclaimed lands present inherent possibilities, from studying restoration ecology with a “zero” baseline, to re-purposing old infrastructure, to breaking free of pre-conceived notions. If we don’t try to force these lands to show no sign of their past, we can find creative ways to take advantage of what they already have, and focus on turning them into what is needed instead of what once was. This panel will examine the various opportunities that can come from studying and managing these places.
