Call for Abstracts

If you would like to present a poster at the Reclaimed Lands Conference, abstract submission is now open!

Abstracts should be less than 1200 characters including spaces (approximately 200 words).

To be considered for review, abstracts must be submitted by 5pm on Friday, May 18th*.

Submit your abstract using the form below.

Poster Guidelines

All posters must fit within an area no larger than 42 inches wide x 40 inches high.

  • This is a multidisciplinary conference and we recognize that not everyone’s work is best suited to the traditional poster format. If you have work that you would like to bring to the conference that does not fit this format, please reach out to cait.field@parks.nyc.gov.

Poster boards will be available from 9am on June 28th until 5pm on June 30th.

Presenters are encouraged to hang their posters on the first day of the conference so that there is as much time as possible for attendees to view them.

Poster sessions will be during lunch on June 28th and 29th, with additional viewing opportunities during breaks.

You are encouraged to stand by your poster during the lunch sessions — food will be provided and permitted in the poster room.

*Please note that depending on the number of submissions, we may need to close the call earlier than May 18th, so don’t wait to submit yours!

Opportunity for Artist/Scientist Poster Collaboration

We are working with the Center for the Humanities at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York to pair graduate students in the sciences with graduate students in the arts & humanities to re-imagine the scientific poster. If you are a graduate student in the sciences who would like to present work at the Reclaimed Lands Conference, or a graduate student in the arts & humanities who would like to re-imagine how scientific work is presented, and are interested in participating in this collaborative effort, please reach out to Cait Field at cait.field@parks.nyc.gov for more information.
