Smartphone Photography Tour
Join Photographer-in-Residence Jade Doskow for a special photography tour for smartphone users! This guided tour is an opportunity to see and capture the unique engineered landscape while using technology right from your own pocket. Learn from Jade how to optimize your cell phone’s features and consider lighting, framing, depth, and perspective to shoot spectacular open landscapes!
This tour is free but registration is required.
Registration: Each ticket admits 1 car, containing up to 5 participants. During registration you will be asked about additional participants in your car.
Transportation: By registering for this event, you confirm you will provide your own transportation. Because the site is not open to the public, all participants must provide their own car that will stay on-site the whole time. Participants may not use a bicycle, taxi or ride-share service.
Gear: Wear sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting wet or muddy. Please also bring water and sunblock.
Technology: Feel free to take photos, but consider carefully before bringing any electronic devices with you as they may possibly get wet, damaged, or dropped during the program.
Restrictions: You will be asked to sign an activity waiver before participating in the program.
Photo archive: After the tour, photographers are encouraged to submit their photos for inclusion in the Freshkills Park photo archive. Photographers are credited as specified if photos are shared on the website or social media.
Cancellation: This tour will be canceled if registration is too low, or if there is a 60% or greater chance of rain on the day of the event. You will be asked to confirm your registration by email before the tour. As we receive cancellations, names will be added from the wait list. If you know you will be unable to attend, please cancel your registration by email so we can fill the reservation. freshkillspark@parks.nyc.gov

Masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be available.
By participating in this event you are acknowledging that you have not experienced a fever, not tested positive for COVID-19, and have not been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 within 14 days of the event.
