21st Century Parks conference recap
The Forum for Urban Design’s 21stCentury Park & the Contemporary City conference ended yesterday. Wednesday’s panel of brand-name landscape architects included James Corner, George Hargreaves, and Michael Van Valkenburgh and focused on the need to renew post-industrial landscapes and brownfields as opportunities for creating new parks. Other common threads in the discussion were designing parks for both people and wildlife and connecting parks to greater green infrastructure.
ASLA’s blog The Dirt has posted a short recap of that discussion.
