DIY Winter Decorations Program
Join the Freshkills Park Alliance and NYC Parks Department for an all-ages upcycling winter decoration workshop at our Studio + Gallery on December 18th. Please note that there are two 1.5-hour timed sessions for this event: 11:30AM-1PM and 1:30PM-3PM.
Decorations that end up in a landfill, never to biodegrade, aren’t jolly or merry. Did you know you can bypass the waste and enjoy the holidays through upcycling? Join us for an upcycling workshop, while we learn how make our own holiday decorations and crafts from foraged materials! In the meantime check out these Festive zero-waste activities to try at home.
While this is a drop-in event and attendees can come and go as they please, we recommend that participants arrive no later than a half hour before the end of your selected time slot.
This workshop is donation-based and attendees can pay as they wish. We understand everyone is in a different position to give and thank you for whatever you can. Your donation supports the education, programming, and research at the Freshkills Park Alliance and makes programs like this possible.
Location: 2240 Richmond Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314.
