Christmas Bird Count for Kids
Join the Freshkills Park Alliance and NYC Park for this annual community science project where we count and identify what birds we see in Freshkills Park. While walking the paths of Freshkills Park’s recently open North Park, participants will learn how to identify birds based on their feathers, calls, and behavior. All of our findings will be logged and submitted to the Audubon Society’s yearly count. Ages 6+. Please dress for winter weather. Hot chocolate will be provided.
Location: We will meet in North Park Phase 1 under the solar panel. Gates to North Park Phase 1 are located at 350 Wild Ave (parking lot entrance) and at Schmul Park (behind the baseball field).
