Gwen Lohse

Gwen Lohse is serving her second Americorps term as the Community Outreach and Engagement NYC Service member. A native Staten Islander and previous intern at Freshkills Park Alliance, Gwen co-leads educational and public programming at the park and develops outreach and recruitment materials,. Gwen is on track to earn her Bachelors in environmental studies with a concentration in earth systems science from Hunter College. She is interested in the intersections between environmental justice, eco-feminism, and environmental reclamation– her commitments to equity and civil service are enabled in her work at Freshkills Park, increasing the five boroughs’ access to green spaces!
