Colin Frederick

Colin Frederick is a Fiscal Intern at Freshkills Park Alliance aiding in field work and funding projects for the Alliance. Previously working as a conservation crew member at the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, he has a lot of hands on experience when it comes to trail maintenance, and conservation work. His work and focus have shifted towards urban revitalization projects and promoting healthier green spaces for both the health of urban ecology, and for the people that call these places home. Although being from New Jersey, he comes from a long line of Staten Islanders and has heard many stories of what the landfill was like, making him ambitious to help out at the park and learn about our project! Colin is a student at Kean University (previously attending Bard College) working towards his Bachelors degree in environmental science and biology. Outside of work Colin is a musician and skateboarder, playing drums for nearly his entire life and skateboarding for nearly a decade.
