Earth Day, continued
No need to keep Earth Day constrained to just one day: festivities continue through the weekend, with Earth Day New York holding a festival at Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan on Friday and Saturday. Exhibits and representatives from environmental groups and green businesses, organic food and live music are all part of the program.
And if you’re on Staten Island on Saturday, you’re welcome to stop by the Freshkills Park table at the Staten Island Rotary’s 18th Annual Ecology Day, an event hosted by 40 area schools, community-based organizations, and nonprofit groups in the interest of educating the public about the environment. At the Staten Island Mall, 2655 Richmond Avenue, from 11am-3pm.
